York Early College Academy

6th-8th Grade

***In order to receive high school credits, 8th graders must pass the class and the associated regents exam with a 65 or above.

Passing the Living Environment class AND regents will give students 2 high school credits.

Passing the Algebra class AND regents will give students 2 high school credits.

12th Grade Business Track

This track provides exposure to foundational content for students who may have educational and professional interests in business.  Courses will be offered through York College’s Department of Accounting and Finance as well as the Department of Business and Economics.  Students who successfully complete coursework will be prepared to pursue majors such as Accounting, Aviation Management, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics.
Possible career options include Information Systems Manager, Accountant, Market Research Analyst, Human Resources Manager, Hotel Manager, and Entrepreneur.

12th Grade Health Professions Track

Students can explore gateway courses that lead to careers related to the promotion of health and treatment of injury and disease. This area would be of interest to students who are interested in how the body works and who care about supporting the health and well-being of people.  Students who successfully complete coursework will be prepared to pursue majors such as: Biology, Nursing, Public Health, Health Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Movement Science, Health Promotion Management and other health care related professions.
Possible career options include Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse, Physical Therapist, Personal Trainer, Occupational Therapist.

12th Grade Humanities Track

The Humanities track provides students with access to an array of courses in the arts, social science, and behavioral science disciplines.  This track provides exposure to a range of majors and future professions. Course content in this track provides a strong foundation for potential majors such as: English, Journalism, Communications, Psychology, Fine Art.

Possible career options include advertising and public relations, creative writing, film production, journalism, radio and television broadcasting, theater and performing arts and graphic design.

12th Grade Humanities Track

The Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) track will expose students to fundamental coursework in mathematics, physics, and chemistry to prepare students to possibly transition into various engineering programs: biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, and mechanical. This coursework also prepares students for majors in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Possible career options include Electronics Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Programmer, Network Technician, Software or Hardware Engineer, Webmaster.
